Man of peace, strength and dignity

Man of peace, strength and dignity...
Bob, I miss you sooo much.  Everyone  does.  Everything reminds me of you.
I especially miss you in the early morning.  I can't seem to sleep past 4 AM.  I light a candle before dawn and listen to a Hopi  meditation  CD.  Sometimes in my mind's eye, I think I see you and some others waiting in the misty distance.  At night, I think I hear you call my name.  I wear your shirt to bed and smell the scent of you.  I know you are still somewhere and once again healthy, big and strong ready to take on the challenges of your new life.

God has truly blessed us.  I know what we shared was very deep and special.  Some people live their entire lives without this kind of love.  This powerful pain I feel now is just a tribute to that love.

Your life on earth was filled with so many  and varied interests.  You put your heart and soul into making people aware of how precious life on this planet really is. Your three year struggle with cancer was evidence of how much you loved life.  You fought valiently against this dreadful enemy.  In the end, home was where you wanted and needed to be.  Thanks to Hospice, I was able to learn how to care for you in this last and very special way.  We were together until the very last breath.

Amidst the pain and suffering of those last days there were tender times too! The thoughts, the music, the prayers we shared are all etched into my memory.  I am sad for me, but I know God has you in that special place and you are finally at peace.
